Typical patio door problems include failed gearboxes, broken handles, locking points that will not engage, doors that have dropped and mechanisms that are difficult to operate. A patio door lock repair may involve the lock itself, but it can also require adjustment so the mechanism is not fighting the frame every time it is used.
Sliding door repairs
Sliding doors can suffer from worn rollers, alignment problems, seized handles and discontinued locking mechanisms. Some older systems need to be dismantled and identified carefully before a repair route can be found. Where a component can be repaired safely or a compatible part is available, I will look at that before recommending more drastic replacement.
Bi-fold door repairs and adjustment
Bi-fold doors can become difficult to close when hinges wear, panels drop or the locking points stop lining up correctly. I work on handles, locks, hinges and alignment on aluminium bi-fold systems and check how the complete set is moving before replacing parts.
