A customer in Bagshot needed new hinges on a bathroom window that had gradually become unusable.
The repair had been postponed for various reasons, but eventually the hinges deteriorated to the point where the customer could no longer close the window properly at all.
I had a suitable replacement pair in van stock, removed the damaged hinges and fitted the new set.
Around 30 minutes later the window was opening and closing normally again.
The old hinges were in extremely poor condition and were fortunate not to have failed completely. Once a window hinge reaches that stage, delaying replacement can turn a straightforward repair into a much bigger problem if the sash drops or comes away from the frame.
In this case, replacing the hinges before total failure restored the window without any further damage.
