 A customer in Staines TW18, searched online for locksmith Staines and called about a sliding rear door that wouldn’t open at all.

 On arrival, I found an old, seized cylinder — most likely the original. Snapping the cylinder to access the mechanism didn’t release the multi-point lock, which pointed to internal damage. I drilled a fresh inspection hole in the aluminium frame to check the gearbox and could clearly see broken parts. This wasn’t a repair job — the system needed replacing. 

 Once the failed gearbox was forced and the door opened, I sourced and adapted a compatible multi-point system (the original had long been discontinued). After a lot of careful measuring, cutting, and alignment, the replacement system was installed and fine-tuned to work smoothly. 

 The sliding patio door now opens, locks, and secures perfectly — rescued from being scrapped.
