 A returning customer in Weybridge (KT13) contacted me about two problematic windows — one letting in a draught and not closing, and another only latching on one side. 

 The draughty window had worn friction hinges and a failed gearbox; as soon as I removed the handle, broken pieces fell out, most likely due to water ingress and lack of lubrication. The second window’s gearbox was sheared on one side, preventing the lock from engaging fully. 

 Both windows were fitted with new hinges and gearboxes from van stock. Each was adjusted and tested to ensure smooth operation and a secure seal. 

 The windows now close tightly, latch on both sides, and keep the weather out.
