 A customer in Woking (GU21) contacted me about her front door locking system, which was giving her trouble. 

 When I arrived, the lock was working fine, but as the fault came and went, I still removed the multi-point mechanism for inspection. Inside the gearbox, I found a small spring and ball bearing out of place, interfering with smooth operation. 

 Since the parts weren’t essential to function, I removed them, allowing the mechanism to move freely again. I explained this was only a temporary fix and couldn’t be covered by a warranty, but it would extend the lock’s life for now. 

 The customer was pleased to avoid the cost of a replacement and get more time out of her current setup.
