 The customer wanted to keep the existing barrel, so I carefully worked the mechanism until I managed to get the door open. The fault became clear — a sheared piece of metal was protruding from the back of the gearbox. 

 The original gearbox had been discontinued, so I sourced and fitted a brand-new full-length multi-point locking system the very next day. 

 The door now opens and locks flawlessly, providing renewed security and ease of use.
